iPhone support in Ubuntu 10.04 beta1

Everybody is excited now about the product launch of the iPad but I guess it's time to put it away and take a look at iPhone support in the upcoming release of Ubuntu (10.04, Lucid Lynx). The first few minutes are containing footage from a fresh install. After that I compiled the latest version (1.0.0) of libimobiledevice what makes it all possible whit some other software. I suggest you to watch the video in HD. For Ubuntu head to: http://www.ubuntu.com If you're looking for more information or building instructions: http://www.libimobiledevice.org The music: http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Elektronova/ PS: My iPhone is not jailbroken since there is no option for that with 3.1.3 firmware.

How to Install Ubuntu on a Virtual Machine

Ubuntu is currently the most popular Linux distribution in the consumer market. Simplified user controls, interface, and overall ease of use can be attributed to its success. Unfortunately, it doesn't always have all the software you might need to go through your day. You can use Wubi to install Ubuntu without having to create a separate partition, though this also means needing to reboot your machine to access Ubuntu programs. Another alternative method of installing Ubuntu is through a virtual machine. In this video, Matt Ryan (The Frugal Geek) takes us through the process of installing Ubuntu on OS X using Parallels. Other alternatives include VirtualBox, VMWare Fusion, and Virtual PC, among others. You can find coupons for Parallels here: http://go.tagjag.com/parallels Matt Ryan can be found on Twitter here: http://twitter.com/FrugalGeek http://chris.pirillo.com http://lockergnome.com http://twitter.com/ChrisPirillo
